through the practice of realistic martial arts

THE TEST OF A GOOD TEACHER IS NOT HOW MANY QUESTIONS HE CAN ASK HIS PUPILS THAT THEY WILL ANSWER READILY, BUT HOW MANY QUESTIONS HE INSPIRES THEM TO ASK HIM WHICH HE FINDS IT HARD TO ANSWER.

The American Martial Arts Academy offers a diverse team of highly skilled instructors, including Black Belts in Karate, Judo, Jujitsu, and a Guru in Kali Silat. The American Martial Arts Academy Has been around since 2000 and continues to thrive as the areas premier martial arts training center.

Lucas Predmore
Lucas's martial arts career began in 1991 when he began practicing Judo with his father David. In 2004 he began training law enforcement personnel at the Law Enforcement Training Institute as well as training with River City Skills Development.

In 2005 Mr. Predmore began cross-training heavily in various styles of Kickboxing, Kali Silat and
Ju-Jitsu as well as other martial arts such as Hapkido, Karate, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and others. Lucas is a 1st Degree Black Belt and is well versed in many diverse styles of martial arts because he believes that every martial art has value and one must strive to be as well rounded as possible.

In addition to years of martial arts training Lucas has been doing personal training for athletes and general fitness clients since 2005 and has had tremendous results with all his clients with goals from weight loss to muscle gain.

Mike Dzicek
Guru Mike Dzicek began studying martial arts in 2004, under Mas Guru Jason Heriford. Though he started his training in American Karate, his heart resides in the art and science of Kali-Silat. He is a trained instructor of this art and is the youngest to be certified as “Guru” in his original system. He has trained with various masters such as P. Gregg Alland, Mike Perry, Dennis Ocampo, and Grandmaster Jerson “Nene” Tortal.

Guru Mike knows that Kali Silat offers a full spectrum of disciplines and is truly a Martial “art.” Physical fitness, nutrition, self-discipline, respect, honor, self-defense, spirituality, education and grace are all integral parts of Kali-Silat and the other Martial Arts from the Philippines and Indonesia.

When he’s not training, Guru Mike likes to read. He plays lead guitar in a band and some day aspires to become a filmmaker. (Hopefully they’ll be good movies.)
